I made a couple of talent adjustments to my primary (Holy) and secondary (Disc) specs.
On the holy side, I had been running with a 13/58 build. The cookie cutter build is 14/57, with the 14th Disc point in
Inner Focus. I had been doing without Inner Focus because of its cooldown and in order to maximize holy talents such as
Body and Soul,
Surge of Light,
Healing Prayers,
Serendipity,
Holy Reach, and Test of Faith.
I don't miss Inner Focus in 25-mans with all of their sources of replenishment, but I do miss it a lot in anything smaller than that, so I have restored it, taking one of the three talent points that I had in
Test of Faith. Also, I saw a great suggestion to use Inner Focus in tandem with Divine Hymn to give the latter a much better shot at critting. That would make it an even more awesome heal than it already is in situations such as XT-002's Tympanic Tantrum.
Disc is my secondary build, and in the absence of deep knowledge of and experience with that build I went with one of the cookie cutters suggested by EJ (57/13 with the last point for personal preference). However, I recently saw a great suggestion by one of the regulars in EJ. His point is that most healing builds automatically max out
Divine Fury in the Holy tree without a second thought. However, it's reasonable to challenge this based on the frequency with which a Disc healer uses Greater Heal (i.e., never). Consequently, that's five wasted talent points, so go ahead and get some use out of them by plowing them into
Spell Warding instead, and increase your survivability in fights with a lot of spell damage. Just a tweak, but a decent one.
